I got tagged by . Funnily enough, I asked myself just yesterday whether I'd be tagged by anyone to do this thingy here as well. I'm a visionary!


1. Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate?
Hot Chocolate, for sure! I had one for breakfast, and I feel like drinking another one.

2. Does Santa wrap presents or just sit them under the tree?
I agree with ' theory. It sounds convincing.

3. Colored lights on tree/house or white?
I was told by that she doesn't fancy the white lights people usually put up in Germany. Well, to be frank, I only use white lights too. The colored ones that are sold in Germany are crappy. Our lights, however, have a yellowish tint. They look nice. :3

4. Do you hang mistletoe?
No. There's a booth at the Christmas market in my hometown, though, where mistletoe is sold. They also have a huge bunch dangling from the gable, so if you want, you can kiss your honey under it.

5. When do you put your decorations up?
On the first Advent weekend. Unfortunately I don't have so much space in my apartment like I used to have in my room at my parents' house.

6. What is your favorite holiday dish (excluding dessert)?
I don't like goose/duck that much, but apart from that I'm not picky.

7. Favorite holiday memory as a child:
I enjoy(ed) every Christmas holiday (so far). The year we had masses of snow was great.

8. When and how did you learn the truth about Santa?
I don't remember. I think one of the neighbor's children told me.

9. Do you open a gift on Christmas Eve?
In Germany, it's usual to open the presents on Christmas Eve. So: yes.

10. How do you decorate your Christmas Tree?
My mother helps me untangle the lights first, then we put them up together. Afterwards, I put up the rest of the decoration alone: the Christmas tree balls, the tinsel, the star on the top.

11. Snow! Love it or Dread it?
I love snow, unless it deters me from getting to university. Freezing rain and frost is even worse. Well, there's nothing of all that in Karlsruhe. It's freaking cold, but no snow in sight! My parents in Oldenburg had snow (which is not typical for Northern Germany - there, it has become more and more seldom over the years)! I'm longing for a white Christmas!

12. Can you ice skate?
Yes, but I haven't ice skated in years. We have an ice rink here in Karlsruhe and in Oldenburg as well. I gotta try them!

13. Do you remember your FAVORITE gift?
I think my favorite gift was the "Playmobil" dollhouse: [link]rev=/images%3Fq%3Dplaymobil%2Bpuppenhaus%26um%3D1%26hl%3Dde%26sa%3DN I loved playing with it and I still have it stored in the attic for my own children.

14. Do you remember your WORSE gift?
No. I forgot about it.

15. What is the most important thing about the Holidays for you?
Spending them with my family, of course!

16. What is your favorite Holiday Dessert?
Christmas cookies

17. What is your favorite holiday tradition?
going to the Christmas market, lighting up the candles on the Advent wreath, our Advent calendar, decorating the Christmas tree on Christmas Eve and wrapping the presents

18. What tops your tree?
a silver star

19. Which do you prefer giving or receiving?
I like both. I love surprising others just as much as being surprised myself.

20. What is your favorite Christmas Song?
Too many! We're listening to the radio all the time during the holidays and I enjoy every single song.

21. Candy Canes! Yuck or Yum?
I don't like them. Yuk!

22. What do you want for Christmas?
I already got my new glasses. Apart from that, I'd like to get a Swedish grammar book and dictionary as well as some Polychromos pencils and Copic markers, but that's it.

23. Do you attend an annual Christmas Party?
No, I always spend Christmas with my family.

24. Do you dress up on Christmas or wear PJs?
I dress up.

25. Do you own a Santa hat?
Yup!

26. Who do you normally spend Christmas with?
I spend Christmas Eve and the first Christmas Day with my parents, my brother and his girlfriend. In the course of the first Christmas Day, my bf usually joins us. On the second Christmas Day, I visit him and we spend the evening with his family.
