A few slots are still open. So if you want to participate, leave a comment here. Deadline: tomorrow.
I really missed the annual Christmas Card Exchange last year, so I decided to sound the bell for a new round! Actually, I have been looking forward to posting this entry for quite a few weeks now.
But before we can get started, let me resume the how-tos and rules.
What exactly is the Christmas Card Exchange and how does it work?
I started this way back in 2009 after seeing this tradition circulate on dA. It is a nice way to celebrate friendship and has since become something I look forward to every year.
Basically, you send a card to a person and get one in return. Figures, right? Yes, but since I like to actually hold something in my hands and see this as an opportunity to give a little gift myself, this is not about sending some digital season's greetings. It is about real cards.
I usually do mine with colored pencils. This is no necessity for you, but I would like to get something that shows your personal touch.
Are there any restrictions?
Yes.
* First of all (and I can not stress this enough): It's an exchange. It's not to get a free drawing just like that. You have to give something in return.
* If you are a friend of mine or if we are in regular contact here on dA, I will gladly add you to the list. If you watch me but (have) never talk(ed) to me (before), this exchange is not for you. I'm sorry.
* As I said above: You get a card from me, so I would like to get a card from you as well. Like, I get mail from you. This means we are exchanging addresses.
* Since my cards are handmade and I want to avoid them arriving too late, I'll have to set a deadline for those who want to participate. This will be on Wednesday, November 30th.
* Ten slots will be open.
What do I have to do?
* Drop me a comment or a note. I'll add you to the list if you are under the first ten people to respond.
* You'll have to note me with your address. After that, you will get mine in return.
* We both get our cards ready and send them out to each other. It would be great if you let me know once you mailed it. I'll do the same.
* Drop me a comment or note when your card arrived.
Can I ask for a certain motif?
Yes, as long as you allow me the same.
Are there any examples?
Yep. <da:thumb id="646531516"/>
Any further questions? Just ask away.
Can't wait to get started.
The list:
1. I received card
2. she received card
3. she received card, I received card
4. I received card
5. she received card, I received card

Fanfic update
It took me a while, but here’s the newest installment of "The Exam Called Life": https://www.fanfiction.net/s/14143801/3/The-Exam-Called-Life-Part-2-Forces-of-Nature Eleanor makes her reappearance in this one! :la:
Bye for now.
This probably comes as a surprise to you. Without going into too much detail, I haven‘t seen the signs that I need a break. Some of you know that I‘ve had experiences with fandom toxicity in the past and these are obviously affecting me more than I expected, in different ways. There‘s a lot I wanted to share with you and I‘m so, so sorry to leave you hanging like this, but I need to call a halt before it‘s too late. I don‘t know yet how long my break is going to be. Here‘s hoping that I will find a direction where to go and what to do. I‘m very grateful for all the inspiration, motivation and kindness you‘ve shown me in the past year. Let me conclude with a favor I‘d like to ask you. Please, be kind to each other. Always. Talk to each other. Communication solves so many problems. Listen to your friends if they need help. Support each other. Toxicity has so many faces, so take care of yourself and the people around you. Make each other feel appreciated so toxicity doesn‘t stand
The Exam Called Life Part 2 is here!
https://www.fanfiction.net/s/14143801/1/The-Exam-Called-Life-Part-2-Forces-of-Nature :la: I'm happy, I'm nervous, I'm excited. This is my first time writing for a good deal of the DWD cast, so let me know what you think. Enjoy!
I finished my fanfic.
Okay, that's not quite right. :D But I'm happy to announce that after 14 years (with a hiatus of 9 years in between), I finished the first part of my fanfic "The Exam Called Life". I'm already working on part two and I'm looking forward to sharing it with you. Thank you to everyone who read my story in the past and to all those who are still reading it, for your support and feedback. If it weren't for you guys, I would probably have abandoned the project altogether. For those who would like to read it, here's the link: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/4409887/1/The-Exam-Called-Life-Part-1-Attachment-Theory (It's also on AO3 https://archiveofourown.org/works/34949479/chapters/87035911 and Wattpad https://www.wattpad.com/1261706219-the-exam-called-life-senior-solitude but I just started sharing it on both accounts.) And now let's fast-forward to 15 years later. Stay tuned!
